The incorporated Board met for the first time on October 21, 1949, when their first major decision was the construction of a fence along Uniontown Road at the cost of $10,005. In 1950, the purchase price for one burial lot was $50. Today the price per lot is $500.
Small parcels of land were added to the original cemetery plot over the years as opportunities became available. A parcel was purchased around 1951 and in 1966 another 1.8 acres were added (bought from Mr. James Stretch at the cost of $2,739.30). Today the cemetery owns approximately ten acres of land.
In 1969 a caretaker’s house was built on the corner of the cemetery for $13,445.41. Since the structure is no longer needed to house a caretaker, it is a rental property.
The Cemetery Board is comprised of representatives from the Pipe Creek Church of the Brethren, Union Bridge Church of the Brethren, Linwood Brethren Church, St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Edgewood Church of the Brethren, and 1 at-large member.
